ACCMS November 22 Fall Concert “Secrets of Small Things”
The Ashtabula County Choral Music Society Chorale (ACCMS) is proud to premiere 12 original works composed by Morgan Yoak, who has sung with ACCMS since 5th grade, and began recently to compose original choral songs. The ACCMS Chorale, under the direction of Paul Shellhammer III will perform those choral works, entitled “Secrets of Small Things” on November 22, 2026 at 2 pm at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 4901 Main Ave., Ashtabula.
Mr. Yoak draws inspiration from cherished poetry and the wonders and mysteries found in the natural world. He approaches each setting as an opportunity to discover the music already waiting within the words. Simple titles of the songs such as Music on the Water, The Swan, Telling the Bees, Moth Moon, A Noiseless Patient Spider belie the depth and beauty within the music.
This debut performance of “Secrets of Small Things” opens the 37th Season for ACCMS, whose mission is to present quality performances of significant choral works for Northeastern Ohio audiences while providing local singers with an artistic, educational and musical experience. ACCMS is a non-profit 501c3 corporation. Concert attendance is free; donations are gratefully accepted. The website: ashcochoralmusicsociety.org and the ACCMS Facebook page provide further information about ACCMS.
